​The INSPIRATION for MINDFUL AF
MINDFUL AF was born out of a deep desire to create a loving, non-judgmental space where everyone is free to show up just as they are. During 2020, Amy realised the power of community and connection, which she had cherished growing up through attending church, leading youth groups, and even joining choirs. After a major life change, yoga and reiki helped Amy find herself and heal, but she often found herself in spaces where she witnessed and felt judgement for past beliefs. This inspired the creation of MINDFUL AF - a sanctuary where people of all backgrounds, experiences, and stories are welcomed and held in compassion. There is a much longer story but for now, this gives you a little snippet of the why behind MINDFUL AF or as the tribe call it MAF.

 

Our Vision and Atmosphere
MINDFUL AF is a space where mindfulness goes beyond just yoga. We embrace all safe mindfulness modalities because we believe that it takes different practices to help us flow through different life events and experiences. Our studio is clear, calm, and filled with warmth, welcoming all levels of experience. We are set against the natural beauty of the valley and mountains, visible through the large window that fills the back wall of the studio—a constant reminder of our connection to nature.

 

What Makes Us Unique
We are more than just a yoga studio. At MINDFUL AF, our connection to nature is immediate and ever-present. The studio’s rear wall opens to a breathtaking view of the Emerald valley and Monbulk mountains. This physical connection to nature, combined with our plant-filled, art-adorned, and color-therapy-lit space, helps create a calm and healing environment where you can truly be present.

 

What You Can Expect
After each class, people often share that they feel seen, heard, and at peace, as though they received exactly what they needed. Whether it's your first time experiencing mindfulness or you're a seasoned practitioner, MINDFUL AF is a place for you to reconnect with yourself, free from judgment. A note from Amy about our space for ALL
MINDFUL AF is especially close to my heart as a safe haven for men, women, children, and teens to explore mindfulness in a welcoming and non-judgmental space. My own journey through loss and healing led me to realise the importance of holding space for others, particularly young people, as a tribute to my friend who passed away when i was a teenager.
